China Excavator Sales Rise 26.4% In H1 2026 As Exports Accelerate

China’s excavator industry completed the first half of 2026 with strong year-on-year growth. According to the China Construction Machinery Association, manufacturers sold 25,445 excavators in June, an increase of 35.3% from a year earlier. Domestic sales reached 10,898 units, while exports climbed to 14,547 units, increasing 36.4% year on year.

For the first six months of 2026, total excavator sales reached 152,320 units, up 26.4%. Domestic sales totaled 79,025 units, an increase of 20.4%, while exports reached 73,295 units, growing 33.5%.

Export Growth Is Reshaping The Market

One of the most important signals in the first-half data is the growing weight of overseas demand.

Export growth continued to outpace domestic sales growth, while the absolute volume of exported excavators moved closer to domestic sales. This means international markets are becoming an increasingly important part of the demand structure for China’s construction machinery industry.

The broader investment picture also deserves attention. China’s National Bureau of Statistics reported that fixed-asset investment excluding rural households declined 5.7% year on year during the first half of 2026, while infrastructure investment decreased 2.4%. At the same time, investment in equipment and instruments increased 8.1%.

These figures suggest that the strength of excavator sales cannot be explained only by a broad rise in traditional infrastructure investment. Equipment renewal, machinery replacement, industrial upgrading and overseas demand are becoming increasingly relevant factors in the market.

A Larger Overseas Fleet Creates Long-Term Aftermarket Demand

For the construction machinery aftermarket, exports have an effect that extends far beyond the original equipment sale.

Every excavator entering an overseas market becomes part of the local installed equipment base. Over time, these machines require regular maintenance and replacement of wear-related or precision engine components.

Diesel fuel-system components are particularly important because injector and high-pressure pump performance directly affects fuel delivery, combustion quality and engine operation.

For distributors and repair workshops, this creates long-term demand for diesel fuel injectors, common rail injectors, high-pressure fuel pumps, injector nozzles, control valves and related repair parts.

At the same time, a growing international equipment population makes accurate application identification more important. Machine model alone is sometimes insufficient because different production batches and regional configurations may use different engines, injection systems or part numbers.

Parts Identification For International Buyers

Guangzhou Yoshida International Trade Co., Ltd. focuses on diesel fuel injection parts and construction machinery engine components for international aftermarket customers.

When confirming a replacement component, buyers can provide the OE number, injector number, pump number, engine model, machine model, nameplate information or product photos.

This identification process helps reduce incorrect matching and is especially useful for construction equipment operating in overseas markets where machine specifications may vary between regions.

As Chinese construction machinery continues expanding internationally, the aftermarket opportunity will increasingly depend on more than product availability. Accurate identification, application knowledge and reliable parts supply will become equally important.
